The baby shower tradition has arrived in the Algarve.
The Baby Shower, so popular in the USA and Brazil, already has a considerable number of supporters in Portugal.
This event aims to complement everything needed for the baby’s arrival: clothes, toys, car seats, feeding bottle, nappies, etc.
Usually, the godmother or best friend of the baby's mother is in charge of the party and only her friends are invited, including grandmothers, cousins and aunts.
They are the ones who get together for a lively party before the baby is born, bringing special gifts. Of course, no one is excluded – often, the father, uncles and closest friendsalso join the group. Who knows, this is the opportunity to reveal whether it’s a boy or a girl!
