Location and accessibility
Situated in the South of Portugal, at the south-western tip of Europe, the Algarve has a privileged strategic location. It is around 2 hours away from Lisbon by car and is served by:
- Faro international airport and Portimão airfield;
- Trainstations with regional and long-distance connections, including the main stations at Vila do Bispo, Lagos, Portimão, Tunes, Albufeira, Olhão, Tavira, Faro and Vila Real de Santo António;
- Motorway A2 from Lisbon, the country’s capital;
- A longitudinal motorway between Lagos and Vila Real de Santo António (already on the Spanish border).
- A network of regional roads between the different locations on the coast and the Algarve hills;
- Several marinas and marinas, including Lagos, Portimão, Albufeira, Vilamoura, Faro, Olhão and Guadiana.
